Also known as the Kingdom of Mauria, the Cusped Kingdom is often regarded as a kingdom as old as the land it occupies. For hundreds of years, Maurian Kings have dealt with foreign powers through diplomacy and brief displays of power, ruling over the Cusped Kingdoms of Mauria and Anakria. When the Surlan Calamity led the Cusped Kingdoms to a violent divorce, however, Mauria was politically challenged for the first time—and beaten. Now, plagued by both threat of foreign invasion and yet another civil war, the remaining Kingdom of Mauria is finding it increasingly difficult to avoid large-scale conflict and is the cusp of plunging into full-scale war...
The Cusped Kingdom is the foundation on which the other nations were built. Mauria's army enjoys a wide array of diverse units seen throughout the other factions, and it maintains simple and common methods of operation and construction rather than the more complex and difficult aspects that other nations have been forced to adopt. The Cusped Kingdom has always had a simple, straightforward, and yet elegant procedure in war that distinguishes it from the others.
The Maurians firmly believe that the almighty Droren appoints each king that inherits the Maurian throne. The current ruler, King Matthieu D'Leon, is widely renowned for his devotion to his family, kingdom, and god. Matthieu often stays awake for days at a time trying to negotiate honorable resolutions to conflicts, but he nonetheless places a strong emphasis on maintaining the intense discipline and training that fames the Maurian army. If tragedy were to befall him, he has long been preparing his son, Prince Jalen, to ascend to the throne, though it is unclear if the D'Leon legacy can endure beyond Matthieu's untested son.
Among the Cusped Kingdom's finest warriors are promising knights who have passed trial after trial in the name of the King. Sirs Lysander Ursau, Ernest Belvedere, Simon Oblive, Alder Cintarian, and even Prince Jalen utilize magical armor, animalistic abilities, and superior combat training to accomplish any task set before them.
Prince Jalen is determined to restore his kingdom to its former glory. He has set out to discover ancient powers of the past, and he aims to bring glory to Mauria by summoning the almighty Droren's mythical eagle, Vernicus. Droren recognizes such great sacrifice in knights and is known to imbue his most faithful followers with his divine might—in light of this, perhaps Jalen himself can one day be powerful enough to singlehandedly subdue even the deadliest of foes.
