Sir Simon the Jokester
————————
————————
Monkey Distraction: Choose an enemy infantry unit within 3 spaces of Sir Simon. Create a Monkey on the same space as his target. That foe cannot attack any unit other than the monkey until the monkey is dead. The monkey moves with its target whenever its target moves, but it dies if its target enters terrain that would kill the monkey. Up to 2 different targets can be distracted by monkeys at once.
Blended Protection: When Sir Simon is within 1 space of a tree that is equal to or greater than his height, he adds 2 to his defense.
Monkey Grip: Simon treats 2-handed weapons like mainhand weapons and can equip mainhand weapons in his offhand.
Nature's Aid: With the help of creatures around him, Sir Simon may harm attackers even when rolling defense against ranged attacks (just as if he were blocking a melee attack). This ability is only active when Simon's attacker is not standing on structural terrain.
More of a jokester than a fighter, Simon Oblive never has taken his role as the Oblive family heir seriously. Content to dine well, ride the fine horses of the Simian Stables, and play with animals in the Oblive menageries, Simon had originally refused to take part in any warfare for the Cusped Kingdom, even during the Anakrian invasion. After his father threatened to strike away his inheritance, however, the reluctant Simon took up his adamite armor and set off to join the Kingdom's army—and bringing a number of animals from his menagerie with him! Since then, his father has passed, and Simon has made a name for himself as an unorthodox combatant who utilizes his expertise with animals and woodlands to defeat his enemies. Those who fight at his side witness feats and capers that Ernest Belvedere couldn't dream up in even his wildest poems.
