Arbalists

Arrow Volley:
Precision Rating: 2
If multiple arbalists are attacking the same target, you may replace their separate attacks with a single attack, the strength of which is the sum of the separate abalists' base attacks and weapon attacks. This attack cannot score a critical hit and requires a piercing weapon with a range of 1 or higher from all participants. Any pre-rolled bonus is applied to the entire attack, and pre-rolled bonuses from the same source do not stack (i.e. if multiple arbalists have a height advantage, the defender only receives a -1 penalty to its attack). Every arbalist participating in the volley must be using a unit command to do so.
Builders: These units can construct buildings.
Lesser Repair: When an arbalist is on a structure or vehicle, remove 2 wounds from that unit at the end of each round. This effect stacks with multiple units. This ability cannot be used to bring a destroyed step back into play.
Motivated Peasantry: Instead of taking a turn with a hero and 3 nonheroes, you may take a turn with 6 arbalists.
When men too old, infirm, or otherwise incapable of service enlisted to join the Cusped Kingdom's war against the Anakrian Revolt, Lord Richard D'Leon lightheartedly suggested to his brother that the Crown give them a crossbow and send them to war. King Matthieu took the idea all-too-seriously, and the regiment of Kingdom Arbalists was born. Many of these crossbowmen are middle-aged peasants attracted by promises of a soldier's salary for their families, and though they have little combat training, their experience in crafts, trades, and manual labor makes them excellent front-line engineers. When facing an attack, they work together to deploy well-timed volleys against individual enemies on the battlefield, but if caught alone, their light armor offers them little protection against all but the weakest assailants.
